It’s called: ASK LISTEN FEEL SHOW
Step 1: The Starter
1. ASK A QUESTION.”
You: “Tell me about your current situation?”
2. LISTEN: Use their wording to make sure you understand how they feel.
Them: “I have been having a ton of lower back pain, and it’s ruining my life.”
3. FEEL: Acknowledge what they said so they feel you understand them
Your: “I can’t imagine living with back pain.”
4. SHOW: Show them that you know how to fix the problem.
You: “I understand how you feel. Tom was in her last week with a similar problem, and today, he is out on the course golfing. No back pain!
(There is “this person” that I know who had “the problem,” but now he is fixed.)
Step 2: The Gap. Ask them where they are right now and where you want to be?
1: ASK A QUESTION:
You: “I understand you have back pain; how would you feel to get rid of that pain?
2. LISTEN:
Them: “I would feel so good. I could go out and start working again.”
3. FEEL:
You: “Got it! I am pretty sure we can help you get back to work.”
Step 3: What are they missing to fix their problem?
1. ASK A QUESTION:
You: “So why have you done something about this before? What are you missing?”
2. LISTEN:
Them: “I keep thinking it will go away on its own, but it hasn’t, so I am looking for help.”
3. FEEL:
You: “We have seen people wait years before they will get some help. So happy you reached out.
Step 4: Priority Question to eliminate door kickers
You: “So would you say that fixing your back pain is a priority now, or you will get to it later?
2. LISTEN:
Them: “Yes, I just want it fixed, and I am willing to do it now.’
3. Close the deal:
ASK: We can help. What day would be best for you to come in?
